We want your first appointment to be straightforward and unhurried. Here's everything you need to know before you arrive — what to bring, what insurance we accept, and what to expect.

Four steps to your first visit.

Step 01

Call to schedule

Call (865) 986-2700 to schedule at the location most convenient for you — Lenoir City, Madisonville, or Sevierville. Let us know which insurance you carry and we'll verify your coverage before the visit.

Step 02

Complete your forms

We'll provide new-patient paperwork to complete before your appointment. Arriving with forms done means your scheduled time is spent with Dr. Reper, not filling out clipboards.

Step 03

Exam & imaging

Dr. Reper will examine your foot or ankle and, if clinically appropriate, take on-site X-rays the same day. Most diagnostic work happens at your first visit — no separate referral needed for imaging.

Step 04

Leave with a plan

At the end of your visit, you'll understand your diagnosis and have a written treatment plan. No vague follow-up instructions — a clear path forward, starting from your first appointment.

What to bring

Come prepared, leave informed.

Insurance card
Bring your current insurance card and any secondary coverage. We'll verify benefits before your visit when you call to schedule.
Photo ID
A driver's license or state ID for patient verification.
Medication list
A list of any current medications, including over-the-counter pain relievers, supplements, and any diabetes medications if applicable.
Prior imaging
If you've had foot or ankle X-rays or MRI at another provider, bring the images or CD if available. This avoids duplicating studies you've already had.
Comfortable footwear
Wear shoes and socks that are easy to remove. Dr. Reper will need to examine your bare foot and ankle during the exam.
Referral (if required)
Most plans don't require a referral for podiatry — but check with your insurance when you call us. We'll help clarify.
